Much of the focus within my recent work lies around ideas of object, fragment and place, particularly relating to memory. I am interested in trying to convey something of the transient, elusive sensation these encounters with places and things can have. Traces surround us and are often overlooked in the demanding, fast paced world in which many of us exist, they can be powerful triggers into other times and may have personal and/or collective connotations. I also find myself constantly drawn to nature from which I contemplate ideas of decay, renewal and beauty within imperfection.
